May,2025 – Riordan Fuels is proud to announce a significant milestone, having invested over $160,000 into rural communities with their Fuelling Your Community program.
Since the program’s inception in 2017, Riordan Fuels has made valuable contributions to a variety of local projects, including hospital and aged care facilities, sporting groups, and grassroots community initiatives. Through their growing network across Victoria and Southern NSW, Riordan Fuels has committed to returning a portion of all fuel sales to the people who live and work in these communities, ensuring support for projects that matter most to them.
One such recent contribution was made to the Tungamah Kickstart Program, which plays a vital role in community planning and development for Tungamah and the surrounding district. In 2024, Riordan Fuels presented a cheque for $6,904.56 to the committee, providing much-needed funding to support community-building initiatives.
The Kickstart Committee has facilitated several community projects, including the renowned Tungamah silo art, painted by Western Australian artist Sobrane Simcock in February 2018. As the first silo art installation in Northeast Victoria, it has brought a new vibrancy to the town, attracting visitors and boosting local engagement.
Jo Clark is Treasurer for the Tungamah Kickstart Committee and is greatly appreciative of the ongoing support from Riordan’s noting that “We are only a small town of approximately 400 people, having a local fuel source is very important to us, otherwise we would have to travel to the next town to fill up.
The ‘Fuelling Your Community’ contributions mean that we keep some of the value of the fuel and can invest back into our town. Like a loyalty program, the more we support Riordan Fuels, the more we can achieve. For example, we no longer have our community swimming pool, and these recent funds are fully contributing to our goal of a Splash Park along with BBQ and seating in our local park.”
Riordan Fuels operates a 24-hour self-serve diesel tank at its site on Spry Street, Tungamah, ensuring reliable access to fuel for residents. Brent Squires, General Manager of Riordan Fuels, emphasized the program’s impact:
“This initiative is unique among fuel suppliers—it creates a direct relationship with the community and can make a real difference. It is incredibly rewarding to work together with community groups to provide innovative fuelling solutions for regional and rural areas while simultaneously supporting and contributing to community wellbeing.”
As Riordan Fuels continues to expand, their commitment to local communities remains strong. By reinvesting in rural towns, the company is driving sustainable growth and ensuring that regional areas continue to thrive.
